Laketra Chick

Laketra is a Registered Clinical Social Worker Intern with over 10 years of experience working with kids, teens, adults, families and groups in a variety of settings. She has been certified in Child Welfare case management and is trained in perinatal/postpartum mood and anxiety disorders. Laketra aims to partner with clients to help them cope with and overcome life's challenges.

Laketra received a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from the University of Central Florida. Upon graduating, she moved to Cincinnati, Ohio where she worked in intensive case management for children with severe mental health disorders. Her work with these children and their families, awakened her passion for mental health. She went back to school and obtained a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Cincinnati with an emphasis in children and families. Laketra began working as a school therapist before moving back to Fl, where she has continued her work in hospitals, a DCF partnership agency, and several mental health agencies. 

Laketra has a wealth of knowledge and is competent in addressing a wide range of diagnoses and populations, but has a focus in treating anxiety, depression, self esteem issues, behavioral issues, trauma, BIPOC, and perinatal/motherhood.  

Outside of work, Laketra enjoys reading, binge watching her comfort shows like The Golden Girls and spending time with her family.
